Azerbaijan and Tajikistan discuss ways of expanding cooperation in ICT sphere
Ways of strengthening cooperation and promoting business relations between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan in all spheres, including the sphere of Information and Communication Technologies, have been discussed at the first meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
Along with the ICT sphere, the meeting discussed the ways of strengthening cooperation in the spheres of industry, agriculture, construction, transport, tourism, culture, environment, and ets. This information was provided to ‘ICTnews’ by the press-service of the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Republic. According to this information, Azerbaijan Republic was represented at the meeting by the delegation led by the Minister of Economic Development and co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Commission, Shahin Mustafayev.
The Azerbaijani delegation included employees of the ministries of Transport, Industry and Energy, Agriculture, Communications and Information Technologies as well as workers of the State Oil Company and ‘Det-Al’ Aluminum Complex. The Tajik side was represented at the meeting by the delegation lead by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sharif Rahimzodan.
Speaking to the meeting Mr. Mustafayev stressed the importance Azerbaijan attaches to expanding relations with other countries, including Tajikistan. ‘More than 20 documents pertaining to all spheres have been signed between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan. Thus, a strong legal base was created for developing economic relations.
There is a big potential for further expanding the existing relations’, Mr. Mustafayev told at the meeting. In his turn, Mr. Rahimzoda said that Tajikistan was very interested in expanding relations with Azerbaijan. He expressed confides that the existing relation between two countries will continue to develop and expand in future.
The meeting concluded with signing of the protocol of results of the first meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan.
