Azerbaijan ranked 96th in the UN world ranking for e-readiness, the UN report on its 'E-Government Survey 2012: E-Government for the People' said on Wednesday.
The report assesses the readiness and capabilities of state agencies in 190 countries to use ICT in the provision of public services.
Azerbaijan's index of e-readiness was 0.4984.Ranking for Western Asia is headed by Israel which ranked 16th in the world followed by United Arab Emirates (28th) and Bahrain (36th).
In terms of the E-participation index, Azerbaijan ranked 27th (0.1316) ahead of Romania, Turkey, Armenia, Belarus and Bulgaria.
The UN report on e-readiness covered 190 countries. The top-10 is headed by Korea, followed by the Netherlands and the UK. Denmark is in fourth position, followed by the USA, France, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Singapore.
