1,8 % of people working for hire work in information and communication sphere
In January 2012 an average number of people working for hire in Azerbaijan constituted 1,361,700 people. 844,700 of them worked in the public sector, and 517,000 in the private sector of the economy. At the same time, 36,400 people were employed in the oil sector, and 1,325,300 people worked in non-oil sector of the economy.
Among people working for hire 1,321,900 people were employed in the non-agricultural sphere. 21,4% of the people who work for hire are employed in the production sphere, and 78,6% - in the service sphere.
According to information provided to ‘ICTnews’ by the State Statistics Committee, among people who work for hire 24,6% are employed in the education sphere, 19,9% – in the sphere of trade, 12,4 % - in the industry, 9,7 % - in the sphere of rendering health and social services to the population, 6,0% - in construction, 4,8% - in transport and warehousing, 3,2% - in the sphere of scientific and technical research, 2,9 % - in agriculture, forestry and fishery, 1,8 % - in the sphere of information and communication and 14,7 % - in the other spheres of the economy. In January 2012, the average monthly salary of the people who work for hire made up 368.4 manat, which is 8,5% more than in January of the previous year.
The average monthly salary of people, who work in the mining industry, finance and insurance sector, information and communication sphere, sphere of scientific and technical research, construction, administrative and subsidiary services, is higher in comparison with other spheres of the economy.
