Azerpost considers acceptable level of profitability of insurance services
Azerbaijani postal operator, Azerpost, gets a reasonable income from insurance services, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan reported.
"The operator gets 15 percent of the amount of each insurance policy, which is an acceptable level of income for the postal operator from insurance services rendered to the population," the ministry said.
Azerpost does not take a worthy place in the insurance market yet.
There are post offices, where the level of postal services provided is high and there are offices where they are not in great demand. Often in the market insurance agents are found who along with the provision of insurance services, offer additional bonuses to insured. For example, with car insurance at gas stations a certain amount of fuel is offered for free.
The advantage of the postal network is its branching, which makes available insurance services throughout the country. Azerbaijani postal operator has a network of 1,600 branches throughout the territory of Azerbaijan.
Currently, services of insurance companies Ateshgah Sigorta and Ata Sıgorta are available through Azerpost. Through post branches and divisions of Azerpost voluntary and compulsory insurance services are offered. In collaboration with the insurance companies Azerpost acts as an agent of insurers, which is beneficial both for the operator and the insurers.
Postal operator extends the range of services, and insurance companies make their services more accessible to the entire population through an extensive network of Azerpost.
