KUR Plant supplied DVB-T-decoders for digital broadcasting to the Nakchivan Autonomous Republic
KUR Plant for the production of computer equipment has supplied its first DVB-T-decoders for digital broadcasting to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, KUR reported.
Deliveries of equipment to the autonomous republic, the total number of which is 500 units, are carried out under a contract signed with the Azerbaijani cable operator, B & BTV Communications.
B & BTV Communications has started the deployment of digital cable and air television in the autonomous republic on the basis of the license issued by the Council of Television and Radio of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in April last year.
Marketing manager of B & BTV Communications Samir Mahmudov told Trend on Tuesday the devices are intended for viewing social digital package.
The social package includes all the republic-wide TV channels, Turkish TV channel TRT and two local TV channels (Channel 35 and Nakhchivan TV).
"Sale of decoders started today at 50 manat. After a commercial package is launched, customers who have already purchased decoders will have the opportunity to exchange them for new devices supporting conditional access on favorable conditions for them, which will be known later. Menu of decoders supports Azerbaijan language," Mahmudov said.
The project of deployment of digital television standard DVB-T, according to Mahmudov, is implemented in three stages. In the first phase, work has already underway to ensure a social digital package to the population of the city of Nakhchivan. The antenna from which digital content is broadcast is installed at the Duzdag television station.
Work is currently underway on the second phase of the project under which it's planned to deploy a commercial package. To this end, additional equipment will be installed at Duzdag station. In the third phase, expansion of a social package to remote areas of the Autonomous Republic is being provided.
To this end, it is planned to install stations in the village of Ibadullah (Sharur district) Sederek district and Deste village (Ordubad district). The question of expanding the commercial package will be considered depending on consumer demand.
