Cloud technology to be widely used in Azerbaijan
Cloud technologies will be widely used in Azerbaijan in the future, IDC manager for Central Asia & Azerbaijan Andrey Beklemishev told reporters.
He said today the world is moving toward cloud technologies as they allow significant cost savings and help to centralise the IT infrastructure.
Cloud technologies are widely applied in the public sector. For example, in Kazakhstan, where it was decided to abandon the IT infrastructure of each agency, centralising it into one state cloud, in order that civil servants can work by a 'thin client' principle and all information is in a cloud environment. It is a very large project which will take time," Beklemishev said.
Experts believe that cloud technology provides mobility and changes the IT market acting as a driver.
Beklemishev said mobile devices aren't only today's "window" to the Internet, but also keep up with cloud technology.
"Mobile solutions and cloud environments are now used for the e-services of state departments. It is happening all over the world and it will also happen in Azerbaijan. In turn, this trend will pull the other as the IT market and market iron out.
"But in general we will observe an increase in market share of IT services and a reduction in the proportion of hardware in a percentage rather than absolute volumes. People will spend more on services than on the hardware, "he said.
