ICT revenues exceed world average in Azerbaijan
The revenues received in the Azerbaijani ICT industry over the first six months of this year have increased by 15 percent, Communications and IT Minister Ali Abbasov said. The minister added that this figure exceeds the world average level twice. Azerbaijan is the leader in the CIS, where the public telephone network converted into digital format. It is typical for developed countries and some developing countries. This testifies to the fact that there are opportunities for access to broadband Internet throughout the country. Today, 105 mobile phones fall to every 100 people, or about 30 percent more than the world average level. The cost of mobile communication services in Azerbaijan decreased by 30 percent for the last six months and the cost of roaming services decreased from 20 to 50 percent, depending on the direction. According to the ministry, the figure is 2.5 times the world average level.
