MCIT discusses expansion of e-services
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan held a large format meeting to discuss issues related to the execution of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s decree “On approval of regulations for e-Government and measures to be implemented towards expanding e-services” and fulfilling upcoming challenges. Authorized representatives and experts from various government bodies took part in the activity.
The meeting began with an opening statement made by the deputy minister of communication and information technologies Iltimas Mammadov. In his statement I.Mammadov provided the gathering with broad information about ICT projects implemented in the country during the last few years.
“The fact that Head of State declared 2013 the year information and communication technologies clearly indicates that the leadership of the country gives particular care and attention to this sphere. The measures envisaged in the President’s decree of February 5, 2013 are very important. Therefore, these measures must be fulfilled thoroughly within the given time.”
It was noted at the meeting that separate tasks were assigned for different state agencies in the decree and that stage agencies must unite their efforts in fulfilling these tasks. The participants of the meeting were informed that MCIT appealed to relevant state agencies to complete the assigned tasked within the shortest possible time. The meeting was provided with information about the current state of the “e-Government” portal and measures implemented towards improving its efficiency.
During the meeting a presentation of the activities that had been carried out in order to raise the number and quality of services rendered through “e-Government” portal was made. The participants of the meeting were provided with information about activities implemented by MCIT to fulfill tasks arising from the decree.
Then representatives of the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Taxes, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Finances, State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations, State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, State Customs Committee and a number of state agencies spoke about activities implemented by the organizations they represented towards realization of the President’s decree, stressing the importance of elimination of existing problems.
At the end of the meeting a broad discussion of activities to be implemented for the realization of the decree was held and appropriate decisions were made.
