Tariffs for international mailing services have been changed in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan’s national postal operator “Azerpost” LLC has introduces some changes to tariffs for international mailing services.
According to information provided to “ICTnews” online news service by the head of the Postal Sector of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies Novruz Mammadov, changes were made to fees collected by post offices for presenting international mailings to the customs. “Sharp rise in the volume of incoming international mailings in the recent years has led to the increase in the number of employees working in this sphere and costs associated with the shipment and delivery of international mailings to recipients.
The changes to tariffs were made in accordance with 9.4 Paragraph of Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Postal Service.
According to the new tariffs the sender will have to pay 0.80 manat fee for each light parcel (for comparison, the previous tariff for this type of postal service was 0.60 manat) and 1.00 manat for each parcel (the previous tariff was 0.80 manat).
Accordingly, the recipient will have to pay 1.40 manat fee for each light parcel (for comparison, the previous tariff for this type of postal service was 0.80 manat) and 2.00 manat for each parcel (the previous tariff was 1.20 manat).”
