PON technology to be implemented in all big cities of Azerbaijan

PON technology, which Aztelecom Production Unit implemented in "Gurtulush-93" settlement for the first time in Azerbaijan, will be implemented in other regions of the country as well.

According to information provided by "ICTnews" online news service, in comparison with other technologies PON provides better broadband multiservice access to optic-fiber network. PON subscribers, compared to ADLS subscribers, are being offered a much wider range of telecommunication services.

ADLS users are using only one service – broadband access to the internet network, while PON users are being offered a number of services, including access to telephone, television and internet networks. For this reason, Aztelekom intends to implement this technology in all big cities of the country.
