Ali Abbasov: “A state program will be soon adopted in Azerbaijan for expanding electronic services”

Expansion of electronic services makes our work easy. Because today nearly half of all 417 state services are being provided in the electronic form," said the minister of communications and information technologies Ali Abbasov in his interview with journalists.

According to him, converting all state services into electronic form is a priority issue in Azerbaijan. "A state program on expanding electronic services is expected to be soon adopted in the republic. Under this program joint activities will be implemented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies, the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and relevant state bodies to convert all services rendered by government agencies into electronic form by 2020. The scope of these activities will not be limited to the digitalization of services. It will also include the delivery of state services to the population. Therefore, we are expanding the delivery of these services through the Internet."

The minister also told journalists that construction of a modern digital communication system in Sheki region and installation of optic cable lines in all villages of this region are nearing completion. "Today Sheki is not just growing, but is also turning into an attractive tourist zone. A lot of foreign guests come to this region. That is why we carry out our activities in this region in a larger format. All these works will be completed soon. I believe that in the near future residents of Sheki region regardless of the place of their residence be that the regional centre or a remote village will not have any problems with using modern communication services."
