UN session has been informed about activities implemented in Azerbaijan towards the digitalization of the republic
The United Nations has held a regular session of the Economic Commission for Europe. The representatives of the State Committee on Property Issues provided the session with broad information on activities the committee had implemented towards the digitalization of the republic. This information was revealed to “ICTnews” online news service by the Press – Service of the State Committee on Property Issues (SCPI). It should be noted that starting from this year the representative of SCPI has been chairing the Working Group on Real Property Administration of the Economic Commission for Europe.
The activity, which took place at the United Nations Organisation’s Palace of Nations in Geneva, discussed a wide range of real property - related issues, including objectives and functions of the Committee on Housing and Land Management, implementation of Action Plan for expanding and rising the quality of housing services, improving the efficiency of property management through lowering electricity costs, etc. At the same time, the session’s agenda included issues such as the proper building of a city infrastructure in the context of urban development, demographic development trends in cities, etc.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Housing and Land Management Rafiq Chalilov made a statement before the gathering. He said that the property registration process was modernised, simplified and was made more transparent in Azerbaijan, and that modern management systems and electronic services were implemented in this area. In his statement R.Chalilov provided the gathering with broad information on actual problems existing in such areas as the execution of real property cadastre and state registry, creation of an address register, implementation of social and economic projects.
He also pointed out that existing problems can be eliminated through active cooperation with relevant international structures and organizations.
