‘585 - landline phone numbers portability' service ensures limitless telephones communication between residents of cities and regions


The Ministry of Communications and High Technologies has introduced a new service, which allows residents of the regions to communicate freely with their relatives living in Baku via telephones. The "585 - landline phone numbers portability" service offers many advantages to its users. The new service is available with addition of 585 prefix. Thus, Baku index 585 has become available in regions as well, and any regional subscriber can use Baku number now. The service enables subscribers to make calls free of charge using intranet, intercity and Wi-Fi networks (CDMA). It creates conditions for stable digital communication and eliminates differences between the city and regions. Portable landline numbers are available at the territory of the whole country, with exception of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Subscriber fee for this service is AZN 15.

Note that the user of this service has to pay for mobile and international calls. To subscribe to this service, the user needs to apply to the nearest telecommunication node and pay 30 manat for connection to the "585 - landline phone numbers portability" service.  It should be noted that the "585" prefix telephone communication service, which was launched at Aztelecom LLC’ network in March 2015, is currently being used in the service areas of 42 regional telecommunication nodes.  Work is underway to extend the service to all the other regions of the country. To date, 1030 subscribers have started to use the service.
