E-government portal and personal identification number (PIN)

While filling out an application for getting a new job or going through the authentification procedure for using electronic services on the E-government portal, the citizen is required to indicate PIN code.

What is PIN code?

PIN code is a personal identification number of ID card.  A personal identification number is a unique code, which is used for verifying information about the person before entering it into the state register. A personal identification number is a single code consisting of combination of seven letters and numbers, which never changes. This code is shown on the face side and lower right corner of the ID card, and includes 7 numbers and letters, except for the last number.

Note that after the citizen, who has passed registration on the E-government, is not required to indicate PIN code for accessing the portal.  For example, when using the "Information about the diploma" service of the Ministry of Education, the citizen has to choose between  two selection criteria – "By the serial number of diploma" and "By PIN code". If he chooses "By PIN code", information will be atomically formed by the system.

It should also be noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs renders the "Search for personal data by PIN code" service through the E-government portal, by using which the citizen can obtain the required personal information with the use of PIN code.

Here the service plays a role of electronic identification card. Therefore, PIN code (including the copy of ID card) should not be revealed by the citizen to anyone, unless absolutely necessary.
