Social situation of communication workers improving
In accordance with the instructions given by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev related to poverty reduction in the country, improving social welfare and social protection of the population, monthly salaries of employees of structural subdivisions of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies have been increased from September 1, 2016.
Guided by subparagraph 5.5.7 of “Regulation on the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies”, salaries of workers working at communication associations and enterprises have been increased by 10 percent.
Increase of salary has affected mainly the employees of enterprises delivering services directly to regions and citizens. Thus, the increase in the head office of Aztelecom LLC was 5%, in all its enterprises 10%, Azerexpresspost Communication Enterprise of Azerpost LLC (except head office) 5%, in all its other enterprises 10%, in Khatai, Yasamal, Nizami, Sabunchu, Garadagh telephone exchanges of Baku Telephone Communications Production Association 5%, in Khazar Telephone Exchange and Baku Automatic Switching Center 10%, in Teleradio Production Association 10%, in Azermarka LLC 5%, and in Militarized Security Department 10% .
In addition, to bring salaries of some workers to the subsistence level has been provided by ministry’s structures and state structures that are subordinate to the ministry (except state-financed organizations).
Note that in January-June 2016, the average monthly salary of employees engaged in the country’s economy was AZN 488.1.
The average monthly salary in the information and communication sector is higher compared to other areas of economy. Thus, the average monthly wage in the sector amounts to AZN 746.8.
