Apple to introduce an advanced data protection system for iOS devices
Apple is working on an advanced data protection system for iOS devices. This is confirmed by the materials of the patent, which AppleInsider.ru reviewed. The new interface provides the ability to individually set passwords for access to applications and files contained in them.
Development will allow users to protect their personal data from unauthorized third-party access. The operation of the locking function is described in the example of an application containing medical information, but with the proper interest of the clients, nothing prevents Apple from expanding its scope.
As an additional method of protecting applications, Apple plans to use a two-factor verification function that can verify the identity of the user by scanning his face. Appropriate technology is also present at the disposal of the company and is likely to be implemented in the iPhone 8.
Currently, the application password protection feature is not widely used in the iOS environment. Such an option, as a rule, is provided only by banking programs, as well as by some text editors. The only regular application for iOS that allows you to set a password is "Notes."
