A total of 110 mobile phones per 100 persons in Azerbaijan

The Communications and Information Technology Ministry of Azerbaijan hosted an event marking 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s independence on Tuesday.

In his remarks to the event, IT Minister Ali Abbasov gave insight into the accomplishments made in the country over the last 20 years, rapid development in IT sector and successful projects in this field.

There are 110 mobile telephones per 100 persons in Azerbaijan at present, the minister said. Mobile operator Azercell Telekom will be issued a license to offer 3G services soon while talks on this matter with another mobile operator Bakcell are already underway, the minister added.
