The Annual ITU Telecom World 2017 International Exhibition & Conference of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) was held in Busan, the Republic of Korea.
Azerbaijan was represented at ITU Telecom World 2017, which plays the role of a global platform for accelerating the application of innovations in the sphere of information and communication technologies (ICT), by a large delegation under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies.
At the four-day international exhibition, which was attended by about 20,000 people, the national pavilion of Azerbaijan hosted a presentation on ICT projects implemented in our country, start-ups, advanced mobile operator services, High-Tech Park’s activity, E-government portal and etc.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan’s pavilion was one of the most interesting pavilions of the exhibition. Since 2009, our country has been regularly represented at ITU Telecom World exhibitions by its national pavilion. Of all countries of Europe and the Regional Commonwealth, only Azerbaijan was represented at this year’s exhibition by the national pavilion.
On September 28, the winners of the International Telecommunication Union’s awards in various nominations were announced.
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan received a special certificate of gratitude from ITU for regular and active participation in ITU Telecom World exhibitions.
Additionally, the High Technology Park under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies received the Most Innovative Individual Participant Award, and the “Healthy Life Platform” presented at our national pavilion was awarded a certificate as one of the best projects in the social sphere.
