Dock for Huawei Mate 10 allows it to be used as a PC with a desktop UI for Android apps
Samsung's Dex dock offers users a desktop style UI when a Android flavored handset being used is connected to a large screen via the dock. This is obviously an improvement over a simple blown up image of the Android UI that the previous technology was capable of. Now, out of France, comes word that the Huawei Mate 10 will be able to sync with a Dex-like dock, which will enable users to use a desktop-like UI to access Android apps. This will work even if the phone is connected to a large screen wirelessly through Miracast.
MirAxess CEO Yanis Anteur said in a published report that the Huawei Mate 10 will offer PC style functionality. That partially explains Huawei's recent teaser for the Mate 10 in which the manufacturer emphatically stated that the upcoming device is "not a smartphone." In addition, Huawei calls the Mate 10 an intelligent machine that sees, thinks and learns like a human.
Huawei is now the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, behind only Samsung. The Huawei Mate 10 could really help Huawei's market share if the device is as awesome as it appears to be. Powered by the home grown Kirin 970 chipset, which will include a dedicated AI chip, the Mate 10 can apparently be used as a PC with a large screened smart TV as a display. Miracast will be the conduit that connects the phone to a smart TV.
