Vitae Industries develops 3D printer for printing tablets
The startup Vitae Industries from Rhode Island invented a 3D printer for medical facilities. A device called AutoCompounder allows you to create tablets strictly by prescription.
A device the size of a toaster or a teapot can print tablets from different components. To create the right medicine, you need to select its composition in a special program and give the command to print. AutoCompounder is useful when you need drugs with a strictly limited dosage. In this case, the device will create a drug for a specific patient.
The entire process of printing tablets and pills takes no more than 10 minutes. Yet, not all pharmacies can afford AutoCompounder, its price is $ 5000, according to Life.
