Apple is selling refurbished iPhone 7 and 7 Plus phones now

Apple’s online store is now selling refurbished iPhone 7 and 7 Plus phones for anyone looking for a new phone but would prefer to save some cash, via MacRumors.

The refurbished devices are tested and certified by Apple, with a brand new battery and outer shell. Like newly purchased iPhones, the refurbished iPhone 7 and 7 Plus phones come with a one-year warranty from the date of purchase, which can be extended up to two years with AppleCare+ (which costs an extra $129 for the iPhone 7 or $149 for the iPhone 7 Plus).

For a refurbished iPhone 7, you’ll pay $499 for a 32GB model, $589 for 128GB, and $679 for a 256GB phone, which works out to $50-$70 off the price of a new iPhone 7. iPhone 7 Plus models are available for $599 for a 32GB model or $689 for 128GB of storage, which works out to $70-$80 off full price for a new model.

The company started selling refurbished phones again with the iPhone 6s in November of 2016. The February start time for the iPhone 7 makes Apple comparatively late to the party this year, with the company only offering the refurb phones several months after the iPhone 8 launch, instead of the relatively short time it took the company to sell refurbished iPhone 6s phones after the launch of the iPhone 7 in 2016.
