Japanese scientist creates a twin-robot
Japanese scientist Hiroshi Ishiguro created a twin-robot, which can substitute him for lectures while he is traveling on business trips. Outwardly, the robot is an exact copy of the owner.
According to the inventor, the robot is called Geminoid. It can express feelings by facial expressions, guided by sensors, and it can talk with the help of artificial intelligence. The device helps the scientist to conduct classes with students. The author works with the audience with the help of video cameras and speakers built in the robot.
“When creating a robot, I pursued a technological and practical goal so that it could replace me in a specific place. Such creations emphasize the power of the human mind,” Ishiguro said.
The scientist said that the hardest thing was to create a soft and elastic to the touch skin. It allows you to bring the image closer to the original. Electronic filling will be constantly improved. Over time, you will have to change something in Geminoid’s countenance, since unlike a person, it does not age, Rambler reports.
