Project “Oxy Generator” wins “From idea to business” startup tour in Mingachevir
A startup tour was held in Mingachevir city with the aim of expanding the startup movement in the country and helping citizens to realize their innovative ideas.
Along with the young residents of Mingachevir region, around 100 young people from Sheki, Ganja, Tartar, Shamkir, Aghdash and other surrounding regions took part in the tour, which was jointly organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and the Regional Development Public Union of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The event took place in the Heydar Aliyev Center of Mingachevir. The startup tour started with an informative session held for the participants of the event.
It was noted that startup tours would create for the youth living in the regions ample opportunities for the development, discussion and presentation of business projects.
"At the same time, startup tours will help young people to form startup teams and develop ideas through the assistance of mentors."
During the informative session held by the State Fund for Development of Information Technologies, the participants of the startup tour were informed that those of them who had innovative ideas would be able to take part in the VI Grant Competition announced by the Fund.
It was noted that the acceptance of projects for the grant competition would last until April 30, 2018.
Then, an interactive part of the startup tour was held, during which the mentors conducted competitions and trainings on various topics.
Following the trainings, 9 teams were formed and a competition was held among them.
After that, the teams presented their ideas to the jury.
The winners of the 1
st, 2
nd and the 3
rd places were identified based on the results of the competition.
The first place was taken by Rahman Jafarli, the author of the project "Oxy Generator". Akber Huseynov with his project "Online Queue" took the second place. And the third place was given to Anar Guliyev, the author of the project "Branch Fi".
Another participant, Gorkhmaz Chumuzade, was told that he would be able to take part again in the startup tour after he improved his project "Let’s Earn".
The winning projects gained the right to participate in the National Finals to be held in Baku.
Note that the winners of the 1
st, 2
nd and the 3
rd places in the National Finals will be awarded by the organizers and partners.
They will also have the opportunity to present their projects within the framework of 24th International Telecommunications, Innovations and High Technologies Exhibition and Conference – BakuTel.
The next startup tours are scheduled to be held in Lankaran, Guba, Sheki, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Sumgait and Baku.

Note that the organizers of the project are the High Technology Park, the State Fund for Development of Information Technologies and the company "Microsoft". The partners of the project are the Public Association of Youth Movement "Javan" and the company "Azercell".
