Telecommunications service providers to spend about $ 36.7 billion on various AI solutions from 2016 to 2025
In the next few years, the telecommunications industry will invest tens of billions of dollars in artificial intelligence (AI), software, equipment and services with their use, the research company Tractica predicts. According to experts, in the period from 2016 to 2025, telecommunications service providers will spend about $ 36.7 billion on various AI solutions.
The main scenario for using AI solutions in the telecommunications industry will be tools for monitoring the network infrastructure and managing its operation. Experts believe that more than 60% of investments in the telecom industry in AI technology will go in this direction.
Among other key applications of artificial intelligence, analysts listed the introduction of virtual assistants in the departments of customer service and marketing, the creation of intelligent systems for customer relationship management (CRM), ensuring cybersecurity, predictive maintenance and mitigation of fraud consequences.
“The telecommunications industry has matured for AI solutions, allowing automation to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Many telecom operators have already begun experimenting with them and introducing artificial intelligence elements in their organizations,” said Mark Beccue, an analyst with Tractica, according to the DailyComm.
