10 programs are broadcasted digitally in the southern region of the country, including Gazakh, Agstafa, Tovuz and areas bordering Georgia. This information has been provided to “ictnews” by technical director of “Teleradio” PA Mikail Abbasov.
According to him, the Armenia’s regions bordering Azerbaijan are also covered by digital broadcasting from TV tower, located in Poylu village of Agstafa region. The technical director noted that the digital broadcasting will cover the whole territory of the Republic in future.
Presently, apart from Baku and Apsheron peninsula, the digital broadcasting covers Ganja, Shirvan, Lerik, Agsu regions and territories adjoining them.
Let’s note that transition from the analog broadcasting to the digital one took place in 2009. However, test works in this direction started in Baku as far back as 2004.
