New “ONU” station built in Romani
“Baku Telephone Communication” Production Association is rapidly implementing a plan of activities directed at providing residents of settlements and villages of Baku with up-to-day telecommunication services. Technical director of “Baku Telephone Communication” PA Rasul Gurbanov in his interview to “ictnews” told that within the plan a new “ONU” (Optical Network Unit) type station with capacity of 1,888 numbers was built in ”New Romani” residential area located at the crossroads of Airport – Downtown highway with Airport – Romani road.
“ONU” is an NGN technology based station, which offers 62 types of services.
According to Gurbanov, the new equipment will allow subscribers to use, along with telephone service, high quality multimedia services. This equipment reduces distance between a subscriber and the station as well as increases speed and quality of the internet. Let’ note that high quality of this equipment, which is largely introduced in Baku now, was proved by the world practice.
