ESET Russia specialist tells media how to protect accounts from data leakage to the Internet

ESET Russia specialist Andrei Yermilov told RIA Novosti how to protect their accounts from data leakage to the Internet. According to him, the first thing you need to regularly change passwords.

“Leakage is critical if you use the same password. If the passwords are changed and are no longer relevant, then there is no risk, except for spam and possible advertising mailings,” the expert noted. Also, the man advised to have several mailboxes: one - personal, the second - for registration in services.

“Nowadays it’s almost impossible to protect against such leaks. Now any store or service collects contact information about its users, and not all of them protect this data,” the expert said.

Recall that yesterday it became known that hackers leaked about 700 million email addresses and more than 20 million passwords to the Web. Experts recommended users to change the password in their accounts and email, Life.ru reports.
