MTCHT once again provides support to children with autism syndrome
Under the relevant UN General Assembly resolution, the World Autism Awareness Day is celebrated worldwide every year on April 2.
On the occasion of this day, which has been marked since 2008, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies (MTCHT) once again provided its support to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.
Thus, the ministry donated computers to the Rehabilitation Center of “Birgə və Sağlam” Public Union, where children suffering from autism syndrome are treated.
The purpose is to support the rehabilitation and society integration of children with special healthcare needs, help these children acquire computer and IT skills, and to create conditions for them to acquire professions in the field of information technologies.
The computers that were provided by the ministry were installed in the Rehabilitation Centre, where about 70 children are being treated for autism spectrum disorders.
The chairman of “Birgə və Sağlam” Public Union Ayten Eynalova informed the children about the autism spectrum disorders and the work carried out in this direction in our country.
Today, one out of every 59 newborn children is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Studies show that the rate of spread of the disease increases annually by about 10 percent. This figure is increasing every year in our country as well.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies has always helped children suffering from autism to acquire professional skills and to grow up as equal members of our society.
