All Xiaomi smartphones can be attacked by hackers via Wi-Fi
The company Check Point, which specializes in information security, claims that all Xiaomi smartphones can be attacked by hackers via Wi-Fi. Specialists have discovered a vulnerability in the Guard Provider application, which, ironically, should protect users.
The fact is that this utility uses an unprotected connection to the server. By connecting to the same access point as the user, an attacker can penetrate traffic between the smartphone and the server. This will allow him to monitor information and even remotely install portions of software code on a smartphone that can be used to steal data or extort money.
The Press Service of Xiaomi reported that they already know about the problem and they are working on solving it. "Xiaomi is aware of a vulnerability in the Guard Provider application discovered by Check Point. We are already working with our Avast partner to resolve this issue," the Press Service of Xiaomi said.
