New residential areas in Sumgait will be provided with telephone services
Work is underway to expand Sumgayit residents' access to telecommunication services.
Within the pilot project, the telephone usage capacity will soon be increased by 18,000 numbers, and will reach 77,600. At the same time, the internet usage capacity will be increased by 52,784 subscribers, and will reach 75,136.
As a result of the work carried out by the Sumgayit Telecommunication Node of Aztelekom LLC of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, 39 pieces of outdoor equipment have been installed in the telecommunication network, and 35 km fiber-optic cable has been laid.
The project aims to gradually increase the number of subscribers of the existing network who access telecommunication services through the use of new equipment. 13 pieces of new equipment have been put into service to this end.
As a result of this, 3,512 telephone and 2,105 internet users have gained an access to better quality services provided through the use of new equipment.
Construction and installation works relating to the project “Fiber to the Home” (FTTH) are also underway.
Multi-Service Access Node (MSAN) equipment is being installed and construction and installation works related to Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) are being carried out in order to provide high-quality telecommunication services to new buildings.
Apart from that, modern networks are being built and put into service in the city’s territory and newly built residential areas (Khazar Gardens, Green Valley Massif).
Along with construction works, repair and restoration works are carried out on a regular basis in the existing subscriber networks.
