Meeting held with winning team of Buta Chess Tournament


The team of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies (MTCHT) became the winner of the Buta Chess –  inter-organization chess tournament co-organized by Vugar Hashimov Chess Academy and Buta Palace Complex.
 
In this connection, a meeting was held at the MTCHT with team members Rauf Rzayev and Anar Rasulov with the participation of representatives of Vugar Hashimov Chess Foundation.
 
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizade said that the ministry pays special attention to the game of chess. It is no coincidence that this type of game is one of 8 kinds of sport included in the Republican Sports Contest Saghlamlig, which is held traditionally with the support of the ministry.
 
Elmir Velizade noted that it is gratifying that the ministry’s team has become a winner in the chess tournament.
 
The deputy minister expressed hope that this success could serve as an incentive and example for the ministry’s employees who can play chess.
 
At the end of his speech, Elmir Velizade congratulated the members of the team and wished them success.
 
MTCHT department head Rashad Azizov noted that it is envisaged to hold an internal chess tournament with the participation of employees of the ministry and its agencies.
 
Sarkhan Hashimov, brother of late chess player Vugar Hashimov said that the team of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was selected from among 20 teams due to its successful game in the tournament.
 
He noted that despite the fact that this chess tournament was organized for the first time, it was successful and that it will be held in the future because of great interest.
 
Representative of Vugar Hashimov Chess Foundation Sanan Shafiyev gave detailed information about the tournament and stated that the team of the ministry demonstrated a smart and stable game throughout the tournament.
 
In conclusion, members of the team expressed their gratitude to the organizers and the leadership of the ministry for organizing the chess tournament at a high level and evaluating their achievements.
