Azerbaijan hosts Youth Internet Governance Forum first time
The Youth Internet Governance Forum (YIGF) was held in our country for the first time as part of the Innovation Festival.
The forum, which will last 3 days, is organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Azerbaijan Youth Foundation and the United Nations Development Programme.
According to the UN, today young people aged 18-25 are the first generation who do not know the world without the Internet. Nevertheless, almost half of the population of the Earth does not have access to the Internet. Young people from different countries gathered in Azerbaijan under the slogan “Together we can change it!”, “We want to change it!”
The event is attended by young people from the Netherlands, Ukraine, Georgia, Albania, Greece, Moldova, Serbia and various regions of Azerbaijan. The first two days of the event are dedicated to the strengthening of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the wider application of the Internet.
The final event will take place on June 3, where interesting debates about the future of internet governance and development trends in the digital sphere will be held, decisions will be made and political arguments will be put forward.
