Hisense Galaxy OLED TVs with IMAX Enhanced launched in China

Hisense has launched a new Galaxy series of OLED TVs in its home country China in two sizes. The 55-inch version comes with model number 55J70 priced at 6,999 yuan ($1,040), whereas the 65-inch variant bears the model number 65J70 and costs 9,999 yuan ($1,485). The highlight of these products is that they are the first Chinese-branded televisions to come with IMAX Enhanced certification.

Apart from the difference in screen sizes and thickness, the newly launched Hisense Galaxy OLED 55J70 / 65J70 TVs feature identical specifications and features.

These TVs, as their name suggests, sport OLED panels with 4K resolution, 1.07 billion colors, 137% wide color gamut, 13,50,000:1 contrast ratio, ΔE1.2 JNCD, and  178° viewing angle. Though the screens are limited to 60Hz, the televisions come with MEMC to improve the experience while watching fast-paced content.

Further, the new Hisense Galaxy OLED TVs come with IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Vision, and multiple other certifications for low blue-light emission. the TVs feature metal body as well as metal stands.

As for thickness, the smaller 55-inch is only 3.8mm thick, whereas the 65-inch version measures 4.9mm. That means these two televisions are thinner than all the smartphones available in the market. That said, the bottom part is thicker as it accommodates an unknown quad-core chipset with 4 x ARM Cortex-A73 cores paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage along with speakers, microphones, I/O interfaces.

Talking about audio, like most high-end smart TVs, both the models come with far-field microphones for voice control and support DTS Listen, DTS Virtual X, and Dolby Audio.

Last but not least, these televisions run Android Pie with Hisense’s own skin on top of it. They also come with the company’s Magic Image Quality Engine Pro (translated), a software tweak to offer an overall better quality content viewing experience.
