Azerbaijan to host third InnoWeek – Innovation Week
The third InnoWeek – Innovation Week will be held in Azerbaijan on December 14-19. The project which will be held at the initiative of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and co-organized by the United Nations Development Programme, Innovation Agency, Azercell Telecom LLC, with the general sponsorship of BestComp Group LLC, BP and Azerbaijan International Bank OJSC is aimed at disseminating innovative ideas in our country, expanding the startup movement, and developing innovative thinking among young people.
In the context of a novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, various local and international events to be organized as part of InnoWeek will be held online. The main goal is to accelerate the process of forming an innovation ecosystem, increase the interest of young people in innovation, as well as support the implementation of startup ideas.

The first event of the Innovation Week will be dedicated to the
I2B – From Idea to Business project.
In connection with the postponement of the I2B – From Idea to Business project in 2020 due to the existing social isolation measures in the pandemic, a mobile application I2B – From Idea to Business has been developed to establish relations with young people in the region, sustainability and attract a wider audience interested in the project.
This mobile application contains ease of communication, work process of teams, communication with mentors and many other functions, which will allow participants to continue the project online. The mobile application has the advantages of no physical dependence on participation, extensive information in advance, transmission of ideas to the participants explicitly, the formation of a more effective team.

On December 14, Matrix Training Center will organize an event called
"Advanced Data Science & Deep Learning" within the Robopark project of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies.
The goal is to increase interest in Data Science in a period of rapid technological development and to give impetus to the training of local specialists in this direction. The webinar will focus on the depths of Data Science and career opportunities.

On December 14-15, an online cyber sports tournament will be held. The tournament will be held online by the Azerbaijan Cyber Sports Federation as part of social isolation measures with the support of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Youth and Sports.

On December 15, as part of InnoWeek – Innovation Week, an online event entitled
"Smart Projects in DPC" will be organized by the Data Processing Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. The SmartCell (Face Recognition) program, one of the successful projects of the Data Processing Center is organized jointly with Italy’s University of Naples Federico II, the aim of which is to ensure the security of personal data.
It is planned to introduce the SmartCell program in the public and private sectors, which will be used mainly in the financial sector and in the activities of mobile operators.
On December 15, a virtual
Cyber Security Envisioning Workshop will take place.
At the event, Microsoft local and international experts will showcase the company’s achievements and solutions in the field of cybersecurity, as well as reports and presentations will be made on next-generation cyber threats and ways to protect against them, cloud solutions for cybersecurity, establishment and management of security operations centers. Besides, virtual question-and-answer sessions and discussions will be organized to share experiences with stakeholders.
On December 15, a video conference dedicated to the creation of the
Digital Skills Partnership (DSP) platform will be held at the initiative of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and the European Union.
The Digital Skills Partnership platform is designed to expand cooperation between all interested institutions and organizations working in the field of digital skills, to coordinate the work done, and at the same time to develop public-private partnerships on digital skills.
The video conference will discuss the establishment of the platform and cooperation between institutions and organizations. In the second part of the event, a workshop will be held in the format of a video conference with the participation of EU experts on the creation of partnership platforms (coalitions) on digital skills in the European Union and the application of this practice in our country.

On December 16, at the initiative of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies,
"Made in Azerbaijan: Forum of Innovations and Technologies – MAINTECH FORUM" will be held. The aim is to promote Azerbaijani and innovative and technological products and services and support their export.
The event will include presentations and discussions on the export prospects of local innovative products and technologies, the development of an innovative business ecosystem, and the promotion of the use of products and services by both the private and public sectors in the country. The forum will be attended by representatives of government agencies, the private sector, international organizations, as well as participants of the innovation ecosystem, startups and representatives from foreign countries.
On December 16-17, within the framework of the "Robopark" project of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, with the support of the "Creative Azerbaijan" portal of the Ministry of Culture, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, AREA –Azerbaijan Robotics Engineering Academy, the first
"Creative Solution Go" Olympiad will be organized.
The aim of the Olympiad which will be held on "How to live during a pandemic" is to support the development of programming, teamwork, ICT and scientific knowledge, increase interest in coding and visualization, the development of games and animations. The Olympiad will be held in two categories – Game design and presentation, Animation design and presentation.
One of the main conditions of the Olympiad which will be held for children aged 7-12 is that the participants bring the game to the "open to everyone" mode. Participants will prepare game and animation presentations and share them in a two-minute video with the training staff of AREA – Azerbaijan Robotics Engineering Academy.
Note that the games will be developed in games and animation programs such as Scratch and Unity. The winners will be awarded various prizes by the organizers and partners.

On December 16, an
awards ceremony of the most active, most text-speaking volunteers in the project, which aims to support the development of various types of large databases, will be held as part of the
eSAS Volunteer Program to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence for speech recognition in the Azerbaijani language jointly organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, the Regional Development Public Union and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
It should be noted that in the first phase of the project, which will lasted a total of one month, in order to prepare the language corps, words and sentences collected with the participation of eSAS volunteers will be placed in a special section on the Opendata.az – Open Data Portal developed by the Data Processing Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, the relevant texts will be sounded and checked through that section.

On December 19, as part of InnoWeek – Innovation Week, the Girls Code Azerbaijan platform will organize an event entitled
"The full lifecycle of Machine Learning projects" within the Robopark project of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies.
How to approach these projects in general, preparing and testing the data needed to study the model, delivery processes of estimated values, and the importance of model diversity will be explained at the training. Devopsdays will be held. Devopsdays is a series of technical conferences covering global software, IT infrastructure operations and the intersections between them.
