LG will turn automatic glass doors into giant OLED screens

LG Electronics (LG) announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, a renowned Swedish manufacturer of automatic door systems for commercial and residential buildings.
 
The first fruit of cooperation between the parties will be sliding doors, whose doors will be gigantic transparent organic displays of light emitting diodes (OLED). These panels can display advertising banners, messages, useful information, etc.
 
Thanks to the transparency, you can see the image on the doors and the environment behind them. Of course, owners of buildings, shopping centers and various beauty salons will be able to change the image on the panels at their discretion: for this, a specialized content management system will be used.
 
The smart ports will be based on 55EW5G transparent OLED screens. They are 55 inches in diagonal and have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Each sheet of the sliding door will consist of several of these screens.
 
Note that the new solution has good performance characteristics. The displays are protected by tempered glass, highly durable and resistant to physical influences.
