Time named the 100 most influential companies in the world – many of them related to IT
Time Magazine, which traditionally counts the most influential people in the world every year, presented a list of the 100 most influential companies for the first time. This includes companies that, according to editorial experts, advance humanity. The list spans a wide variety of companies, from pharmaceutical giants to cryptocurrency companies. Of course, it wasn’t without IT companies, both market giants and less known to the general public.
The evaluation is divided into the categories “pioneers”, “executives”, “innovators”, “giants” and “destroyers”. The first was run by the American media company Hello Sunshine, founded by the famous actress Reese Witherspoon. The second brings together a number of large technology companies, including Apple, Sony, and Twitter. The Leaders category also includes the pharmaceutical companies Pfizer, BioNTech and Johnson & Johnson, the car giant Volkswagen and the English Premier League football. Led this category in the NBA.
The innovators division includes Nintendo, Netflix, Zoom, Epic Games, NVIDIA, Spotify and TikTook. There was also a space for the world-famous Lego toy maker, furniture giant IKEA, and sportswear maker Adidas. The Giants category is headed by General Motors. This also includes Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Alibaba, one of the world’s leading providers of e-commerce, Amazon and the Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange.
The market leader in the disruptors category is Illumina, which develops systems for analyzing genetic diversity and biological functions. That space also includes space company SpaceX and Tesla auto company Elon Musk, Chinese tech giant Huawei, and even the social network Clubhouse, which was talked about just this year.
