Deutsche Telekom, Groupon to cooperate in mobile Web services

Deutsche Telekom AG and online discounter Groupon Inc confirmed Tuesday they have entered a partnership to jointly accelerate the growth in mobile internet services.

Groupon will provide coupons for several European subsidiaries of Deutsche Telekom that will be available to mobile users, the companies said in a joint statement.

Earlier in the day, German daily Financial Times Deutschland reported the companies entered a pact to start several projects in the coming months.

For Groupon, this deal is the first partnership that it has forged with a mobile phone services provider, the companies said.Financial details of the deal weren't disclosed.
