Creating consortium to implement TASIM intensified
Creating a consortium to implement a project of the Trans-National Eurasian Super Information Main (TASIM) has been intensified, Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov told journalists.
"Under the project several meetings were organized in Azerbaijan and Turkey," he said.
According to Abbasov, the final document is being developed to enable the project's participants to get due support from their states to create a consortium to further realize the project.
The project's working group includes representatives from Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey and China. Ukraine and Georgia have also expressed principle interest to take part in the TASIM project.
TASIM initiated by Azerbaijan, with its characteristics will meet to the class of networks of Tier 1 or Tier 2.
Azerbaijan's resolution to create the "East-West" information superhighway, adopted within the UN 66th plenary meeting, will also eliminate all unsolved organizational issues on laying Caspian segment of fiber optic cable main.
The project "East-West" is designed to connect 20 countries in total. Its implementation will eliminate the "informational gulf" between Western Europe and the Pacific Basin.
