Teachers connected to ‘Tax Friends’ network to be provided with computers and other equipment

Azerbaijan continues the implementation of  the ‘Tax Friends’ project that was adopted in 2011 within the ‘Taxpayer Service  Concept’. The main objective of the project is to promote tax culture in the rural areas of the country, excluding the cities where tax administrations and service centers are located,  and to provide support for the information, enlightenment and propaganda activities in the tax districts.

This information was provided to ‘ICTnews’ by the Analytical-Information Department of the Ministry of Taxes.    According to the Ministry of Taxes, certain measures have been taken by the ministry to expand the scope and efficiency of tax services for the taxpayers.

The minister of taxes’ advisor Alekper Mammadov told that  the ministry was executing a wide-scale project to increase the transparency, provide taxpayers with e-services, modernize the ministry’s telephone information service.

Creation of the ‘Tax Friends’ network is another step in this direction. Mr. Mammadov told that teachers of comprehensive schools in the villages and settlements, located far from the regional centers, who want to connect to the ‘Tax Friends’
Network are identified and their adequacy to selection criteria is checked.

The selected teachers will be awarded with ‘Tax Friends’ certificates and will take part in the trainings organized by the Ministry of Taxes.  Under the project, the teachers will be provided with computes and other equipment.

‘Tax Friends’ will accelerate the transition from the interactive tax system to the voluntary tax system. The project will last for 2 years. Around 2,000 schools will be involved in the project, according to the program.  Over 100 teachers have been selected from the schools of Khachmaz region to participate in the project.
