Azerbaijan automates Shemakha observatory telescopes

Shemakha Astrophysical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (AMEA) is going to automate the used telescopes.

According to AMEA, in foggy and rainy weather telescopes will be automatically shut down, they will be remotely controlled by a computer.

The practice of automated telescopes used to study cosmic objects is rare in the observatories of the world. For automation and increasing the capability of telescopes it is planned to acquire additional devices that will help increase the efficiency of the observatory telescopes.Currently the Shemakha Observatory uses six telescopes, of which two are solar and four are stellar ones.
