Russian official offers to create news channel on post-Soviet space

State Duma Speaker Sergey Naryshkin proposes to establish a news channel, a kind of analogue of Euronews in the post-Soviet space.

Speaking to students at the Baku Slavic University, he noted that a common information space created by the Eurasian Union will work not only on the Eurasian "troika" - Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, but also in many countries, including Azerbaijan. "As a first step, I see, for example, the creation of a news channel like Euronews, in the post-Soviet space," said Naryshkin, according to ITAR-TASS"

The State Duma speaker advocated the accession of Azerbaijan to the future information dimension of the Eurasian Union. "We must simply learn more about each other.
This should be promoted by the common information space created as the information dimension of the future Eurasian Economic Union”, he said.

Speaking of the future challenges for the development of integration processes in the humanitarian sphere, the Russian speaker also called for expansion of youth communications. "In this direction we have a large, yet not fully used potential", he said.
