Israel invites Ali Abbasov to International Cyber Security Exhibition


The Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov has met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikhael Lavon-Lotem. During the meeting the Israeli ambassador, whose term of office has expired, and who has completed his mission in Azerbaijan, gave a very high assessment to Azerbaijan-Israel relations in the field of information and communication technologies.

The ambassador expressed his confidence that the cooperation between the two countries in the ICT sphere would strengthen in future. He also expressed satisfaction with the work of Azerbaijan-Israel ICT forum, and said that Israeli companies are interested in making investments in Azerbaijan’s telecommunication market.

The ambassador passed to Ali Abbasov an invitation from Israel to take part in the International Conference and Exhibition on Cyber-Security to be held in November 2012. In his turn, the Minister of Communications and IT Ali Abbasov gave positive assessment to the current relations between two countries in the ICT sphere, and said that investments by Israeli companies in Azerbaijan’s ICT sector would play an important role in the development of the country’s economy.

A.Abbasov stressed the fact that Israel was holding a leading position in the ICT sphere among the Middle East countries. He also invited Mr. Mikhael Lavon-Lotem to take part in the “BakuTel” exhibition-conference and the International Network Management Forum to be held in Baku in November 2012.
