Customs duties for motor cars imported to Azerbaijan to be calculated online

Now it is possible to make online calculation of customs duties for motor cars imported to the Republic of Azerbaijan. Citizens can enter a special section created on the official web-site of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to familiarize themselves with XIF MN-8703 calculation rules.

This information was provided to ICTnews by the State Customs Committee (SCC). According to the committee, customs valuation of motor cars, which are brought to the customs area of the republic as imported goods, is carried out according to the Law of the Azerbaijan Republic on Customs Tariff of June 20, 1995, "Regulations for the application of the system of customs valuation of goods delivered and stored at the customs area of the Republic of Azerbaijan" approved by the Cabinet of Ministers’ order No:07 of January 12, 1998, as well as other legislative acts existing in Azerbaijan.

The said web-site section has links to all legislative acts based on which customs clearance for motor cars is executed. Under these acts, all imported goods, including motor cars, must be declared to customs administrations. Imported goods must be accompanied with relevant documents based on which the customs administration carries out customs evaluation.

The customs administration has a right to verify authenticity and accuracy of any of declared documents. In case of absence of documents showing customs valuation or detection of irregularities in documents the customs administration has a right to carry out customs valuation independently based on the available documents.
