Azerbaijan plans to launch low-altitude satellite into orbit in 2013


 “Results of the tender, which was announced by Azerkosmos OJSC to build, insure and launch into orbit a low-altitude satellite, have not been revealed yet”, said deputy minister of Communications and Information Technologies Iltimas Mammadov during the interview with journalists.   He noted that relevant foreign companies  had been informed about conditions of the tender.

At present,  Azerkosmos is holding negotiations with the foreign companies, which took interest in the telecommunication satellite project.  Let’s note  that Azerbaijan intends to obtain the second satellite after launching the first telecommunication satellite into orbit in 2013.
