The number of broadband internet users hits 200,000 in Baku

The number of broadband internet users in Baku, who are using broadband internet services rendered by all internet providers in the capital, has already reached 200,000 people. This information was provided to "ICTnews" online news service by the deputy general director of Baku Telephone Communication Production Unit Khankishi Kishiyev.

According to him, this figure constituted approximately 160,000 people at the beginning of September. K.Kishiyev said that the increase in the number of broadband internet users occurred as a result of the activities implemented within the framework of the State Program for socioeconomic development of settlements and villages around Baku city in 2011-2003.

As part of these activities, new NGN technology based stations have been built and outdated equipment has been replaced with the modern technologies in all residential areas surrounding the capital. "The work conducted by Baku Telephone Communication towards reducing broadband internet tariffs has also played its part in this increase.

After the introduction of new generation NGN ethnologies in its network, Baku Telephone Communication PU began rendering IAD, IP-TV, IP Console, Centrex, VPN and other broadband multimedia services to its subscribers. At the same time, necessary conditions were created for all internet providers to efficiently deliver their services to the population. All these measures were taken with the aim of providing convenience to users of broadband internet services.

We will continue to take measures towards increasing the quality of our services in order to achieve even higher results by the end of this year," he added.
