UPU awards Azerpost LLC with gold level certificate


Starting from 2004 the Universal Postal Union (UPU) represented by 192 countries has conducted quality management certification with the aim of evaluation of compliance of quality of postal services rendered by UPU member states with accepted standards and requirements. In the period from 2004 to 2012, postal operators from only 51 countries took part in certification.

The process of certification is implemented by carrying out stage-by-stage evaluation of quality of services rendered be postal operators. At each stage of the evaluation process the postal operator must prove its compliance the required quality criteria in order to move to the next stage. The operators, which have successfully passed the final 5th stage of evaluation, are awarded certificates of A (gold), B (silver) or C (bronze) quality management levels.

In May 2012, Azerbaijan Postal Operator – Azerpost LLC officially applied to UPU for taking part in the quality management certification process, and after the company successfully passed all evaluation stages, UPU’s expert visited Azerbaijan on 29 October - 03 November 2012. During his visit UPU’s expert performed an audit at Azerpost LLC.

The results of the audit indicated that the quality of services rendered by Azerbaijan Postal Operator fully meet accepted standards and requirements. The company gathered 1,912 points from maximum 2,000. Azerpost LLC has received a letter signed by Director General of the International Bureau of UTU, which says that the results of the audit have been confirmed by UTU’s Quality Improvement Steering Committee, and Azerpost LLC has been awarded the quality certificate of A (gold) level.

During the plenary meeting of the spring session of UTU, which will be held in April 2013, this certificate will be officially presented to Azerbaijani delegation. It should be noted that besides Azerbaijan, A (gold) level certificates were given to Ukraine, Belorussia and Moldova. Kazakhstan and Russia were awarded B (silver) level certificates.
