Monitoring groups will be set up to supervise observance of language usage rules in the Internet


Wide-scale monitoring activities are expected to be held in Azerbaijan next month in order to prevent violation by internet users of language usage rules. This information was provided to ICTnews online news service by the president of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), chairman of the Terminology Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mahmud Karimov.

According to him, special monitoring groups will be soon established at the Linguistics Institute of ANAS, which will supervise the observation of language usage rules in such areas as mass media, internet and public places. "A special portal rendering interactive services will be created in Azerbaijan. By using this portal people will be able to express their proposals, wishes, requests and complaints regarding the use of Azerbaijani language.

At the same time, a "Hot Line" will be created to register violations of the rules of language usage. Monitoring activities are expected to start the next month." It should be noted that the "State Program on the use of Azerbaijani language in the context of globalization, in accordance with the requirements of time, and the development of linguistics in the country," which was developed under the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, has already been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval.
