Road police to use new technologies against illegal parking

The officers of Baku traffic police will be using a new technology to fine the drivers who have parked their vehicles in the places where parking is prohibited. According to information provided by “ICTnews” online news service, traffic police have already warned Baku citizens about this.

The head of the State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs lieutenant colonel Vagif Asadov informed that traffic police officers will use on-board computers installed on their patrol cars to automatically draw up protocols against the drivers who have parked their vehicles on driveways and in places where there is a road sign forbidding parking of cars.

“Traffic police officers will take a photo of the parked vehicle and put this photo together with penalty charge notice on the vehicle’s wind-shield. The size of penalty charge depends on the degree of violation of traffic rules. So far 60 drivers have been fined in Baku as a result of raids carried out by traffic police officers using the new technology.” .
