‘Microsoft IT Academy’ project expands in Azerbaijan


‘The “Microsoft Azerbaijan” company is set to expand the implementation of the “Microsoft IT Academy” project this year,”’ told “ICTnews” online news service the manager of the “Partnership in Education” program Emin Akhundov.

According to him, the Information Technologies Academy has been created at the Azerbaijan Construction University to this end. “In addition to that, negotiations are now being held with the Baku High Oil School, Qafqaz University, Khazar, Madad-Azerbaijan universities and Azerbaijan University of Languages in this regard. Information Technologies Academies are expected to be established this year in all the above-mentioned universities.

The goal of the project is to prepare high-qualified specialists in Microsoft programs. At the same time, the company is interested in building cooperation with Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, Baku State University and other institutions of higher education.

The first Information Technologies Academy was created in 2012 at the Architecture and Construction University. Therefore, training at the Information Technologies Academy are held by teachers from the Architecture and Construction University.

The students, who successfully pass examination held upon completion of the training, receive an industry certificate from the “Microsoft” company. In future, the “Microsoft Azerbaijan” company plans to implements similar projects in all Azerbaijan’s universities which have information technologies departments.
