Anonymous the Onion browser for iOS is now completely free

The App store became available for free unique web browser with advanced security features. A program called Onion Browser allows owners of iPhone, iPod touch and iPad “surf” the Internet with a high degree of anonymity.

Onion Browser is designed to encrypt and download traffic through the narrow network of The Onion Router (TOR), originally developed in the research laboratory of the U.S. Navy. TOR redirects your traffic through a network of specialized servers that allows the end user to remain anonymous.

The developer of Onion Browser, Mike Tigas wrote to the blogger that made the app free, because he believes that “today more than ever it is important to support freedom of speech, right to privacy and digital security.” Previously, the app cost 99 cents.

According to Tigas, he initially made the app paid to cover your annual membership fee to Apple Developer in the amount of $ 100, but wherein the source of Internet Explorer has always been free. However, even the minimum price at 99 cents raises the barrier for users, said the developer.

Technically Onion Browser is a web client for system TOR compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch running iOS 8.2 and above. The program will be useful to users who want to get on the Internet a greater degree of anonymity, hiding information about your device and about the IP address. According to the creators of the program, the browser safely encrypts network traffic, which prevents viewing of data by the Internet provider.
